Eastern Indiana Works and East Central Educational Service Center collaborate on CareerBoost - Learn. Work. Earn. Succeed, offering youth apprenticeships in East Central Indiana. Modern Youth Apprenticeships provide high school students with paid work, on-the-job learning, academics, college credit, industry credentials, and potential registration in a US Department of Labor program. The three-year commitment starts in junior year, distinguishing apprenticeships from short-term internships.

The combined knowledge and resources of Eastern Indiana Works with extensive connections to employers and workforce needs in partnership with the East Central Education Service Center expertise in career pathways, work-based learning structures, and educational connections will seek to establish youth apprenticeship opportunities for all East Central Indiana students by bringing together schools and employers to create career pathways that provide paid employment, on-the-job learning, related academics, aligned college credit, and industry-recognized credentials.

To create sustainable, meaningful career pathways through youth apprenticeship programs for East Central Indiana students by developing collaborative partnerships between schools, businesses, postsecondary education, and community stakeholders leading to higher rates of credential completion, degree attainment, and placement into good and promising jobs resulting in success in school, career, and work.

Youth Apprenticeship aims to connect individuals with work opportunities in their chosen fields while receiving education concurrently. This approach helps develop strong skills and talent in enrolled youth and allows employers to shape students within their work environment.

Apprenticeship programs offer employers various benefits, such as creating a talent pipeline, diversifying the workforce, and fulfilling current and future staffing requirements.

By embracing Youth Apprenticeship programs, we aim to introduce future workers to various sectors at an earlier stage than traditional pathways, preparing them for diverse industries.
